Planning and organising a wedding is a huge task, which requires much coordinating with, venues, vendors, etc...
Theoretically, it's possible to plan a destination wedding yourself, but it usually proofs to be too big of a challenge, and creates a level of stress that is not ideal to enjoy your wedding.

We can plan and organise your dream wedding in Spain from arrival until departure. We can't book airline tickets, because we're not a travel agency, and because it's much easier for each guest to book his own tickets.

DIY is definitely not the best, usually not the cheapest, option but certainly the most stressful option.
An "all inclusive wedding abroad package" is another option, but packages have few choices and options. If you're ok with the package, and it's limitations, then a package could definitely be a good option for you.
But if you want a more personal approach, more or other decorations, etc, then your best choice is to hire a professional wedding planner. Wedding planners in your home country often also offer destination weddings, but they too, can't plan your wedding from a far, so they need to rely on a local contact person or wedding planner to do the job for them.
So, the best option is to entrust your wedding to a professional wedding planner on your destination, especially if there is a professional wedding planner who speaks your language, and with whom it's easy to communicate. Details can be discussed via e-mail or telephone, and sometimes it's also possible to visit the wedding planner and his venues prior to signing any agreement, which of course, is preferable.

Wedding planner or personal secretary ?
In or career as professional wedding planners, we’ve rarely encountered couples that don’t have a budget for their wedding, and although they may vary from tight to huge, they all have one, and it’s one of the major factors we take into consideration when discussing their wedding plan.
This brings us to our view on wedding planning as a whole, and though I’m sure that some, if not many of my colleague wedding planners will not agree, here I go …
The majority of the wedding planners listen to the wedding couple during an intake meeting, and when contracted, go out to find the venues and vendors to meet the brides wishes.
Of course, they have contacts and/or agreements with some venues and vendors, and they continue to build those relations as they organise more weddings, but still they often depend on venues or vendors they’ve never, or hardly ever worked with.
In my point of view, this poses a great risk, since the relationship between the occasional venue or vendor and the wedding planner is not very different from the one the bride would have, if she hadn’t contracted a wedding planner.
We have to assume that each venue and vendor’s intent is to do the best possible job to satisfy his client, but if for whatever reason, he doesn’t go “the extra mile” to deliver a truly impeccable service, or worse, he only stands to loose a “one-time-customer”.
Relationship between venue or vendor and wedding planner
We believe that the stronger the relationship between venue or vendor and wedding planner, the more leverage the wedding planner has to make sure he can create a perfect wedding.
That’s why we only work with a large selection of carefully selected venues and vendors, whom all have agreed to the level of service and punctuality we require, and they all know that they have to get it right, each time, because if not, they stand to loose all our weddings.
Good communication is key
A perfect wedding starts with good and efficient communication, and that’s why Costa Blanca Events has developed it’s own unique online system, available 24/7 which is key in all communications between wedding couple, wedding planner, guests, venue and vendors.
Which makes it very easy, and stress free for the wedding couple to select the services and make the choices for their destination wedding, and place orders, which the corresponding vendor can confirm.
Where they create their guest list, so that guests can use the system to plan their attendance, order accommodation, airport transfer, hairdresser etc, or select their menu preferences.
And where they while doing so, are constantly in control of their budget, because after all, they too wanted to create their perfect wedding abroad on a budget !
